These Terms of Use govern the ExactCross website, search index, part pages, cross-reference data, research requests, notifications, and any related automated or API access (the “Service”). “ExactCross,” “we,” and “us” mean the operator of exactcross.com. Contact: privacy@exactcross.com.
1. Agreement and permitted use
By affirmatively accepting these Terms, including by checking the agreement box when submitting a research request, you agree to them. Where applicable law permits, your continued use after conspicuous notice of these Terms also constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 and have authority to act for any organization on whose behalf you accept. The Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled; agreement to these Terms is not blanket consent to unrelated personal-data processing.
2. Research information, not qualified replacements
ExactCross is an informational research tool. Data may come from historical publications, manufacturer references, user contributions, manual research, or AI-assisted processing. We do not manufacture, supply, certify, test, or qualify products through this Service, and do not provide engineering, safety, regulatory, procurement, or other professional advice.
A listed “cross,” “equivalent,” “alternative,” “match,” or “reviewed” record is a research candidate, not a representation that products are identical, interchangeable, currently available, authentic, approved, or fit for any application. A review, source link, statistic, label, score, or AI-generated statement is not a certification or guarantee. Missing warnings or difference notes do not establish equivalence. Manufacturer affiliation or endorsement is not implied.
A pair may be searchable in both directions for convenience. That does not establish technical substitutability in both directions. Two parts that share another cross reference are not thereby equivalent to each other. Full manufacturer identity, ordering code, suffixes, revisions, and application conditions matter.
3. Your responsibility to verify every claim
Before relying on any information or specifying, quoting, purchasing, installing, reselling, or using a product, you are responsible for independently verifying all relevant claims, data, and suitability using current authoritative manufacturer documentation and, where appropriate, qualified engineering review and testing. Do not rely solely on ExactCross, an AI answer, or a linked cross-reference sheet.
Your verification must address the exact parts and application, including form, fit, function, mating interfaces, dimensions and tolerances, pinout and polarity, electrical and RF characteristics, frequency, impedance, voltage and current ratings, temperature, materials, plating, termination, mounting, environmental performance, lifecycle, approvals, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements. Confirm commercial details such as availability, authenticity, lead time, and price with the supplier. You are responsible for procurement, design, qualification, regulatory, and safety decisions and for meeting your own customer obligations.
Do not use the Service as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions, including medical, life-support, aviation, automotive safety, nuclear, or other applications in which an incorrect selection could cause injury, death, property damage, or environmental harm. Obtain the necessary professional review, manufacturer approvals, and testing.
4. Errors, changes, and research requests
Information may contain errors, omissions, transcription or interpretation mistakes, obsolete specifications, incomplete comparisons, or incorrect associations. AI-assisted output may be inaccurate or fabricated. Sources and third-party sites may change, disappear, or conflict. Index and update dates do not establish current technical verification. We may correct, remove, or change records and features without guaranteeing a complete or immediate update.
Research requests are handled on a best-efforts basis. We do not promise a match, completion date, successful email delivery, or a particular research method or outcome. A “no match” result does not establish that no alternative exists. Report suspected errors to privacy@exactcross.com, identifying the parts and supporting evidence.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS. EXACTCROSS AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, RELIABILITY, COMPATIBILITY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. NO INFORMATION OR COMMUNICATION FROM THE SERVICE CREATES A WARRANTY.
Any product warranty must come from the actual manufacturer or seller under its own terms. Nothing here limits warranties or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EXACTCROSS AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, PRODUCTION, USE, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS INFORMATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. THIS INCLUDES SUCH LOSSES RELATED TO INCORRECT CROSSES, INCOMPATIBLE PRODUCTS, DESIGN OR PROCUREMENT DECISIONS, REWORK, DOWNTIME, OR RECALLS.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, their aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid ExactCross for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory, including contract, tort, or ordinary negligence, subject to the exceptions below.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury to the extent exclusion is prohibited, violations of law for which liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any other liability or mandatory consumer right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited. If a limitation is unenforceable, it applies only to the maximum extent permitted. The disclaimers and limitations reflect the allocation of risk for this informational Service.
7. Your submissions and conduct
Submit only information you are authorized to share. Do not submit trade secrets, confidential or export-controlled material, sensitive personal information, unlawful content, or material that infringes another person’s rights. You retain any rights you have in your submissions. You grant ExactCross a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, adapt, and analyze submitted product information to operate and improve the Service and publish non-identifying product facts and cross-reference findings. Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy; this license does not authorize publication of private contact details or identifying application notes.
You must not interfere with security or availability, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious or knowingly misleading content, harvest personal information, misrepresent our data as a manufacturer certification, or use automated access in a way that unreasonably burdens the Service. Public indexing does not grant rights in third-party copyrighted material or trademarks. We may restrict abusive access or remove submissions.
8. Third-party content and intellectual property
Manufacturer names, marks, documents, and product identifiers belong to their respective owners. References are for identification and research. Links do not imply endorsement, affiliation, or a warranty of third-party content. Third-party websites, products, purchases, and AI search services are governed by their own terms. We do not control how third parties copy, summarize, or present our public pages.
9. Governing law, changes, and general terms
These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any mandatory laws and rights applicable to you. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, and the parties consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive non-waivable consumer rights.
We may revise these Terms by posting a new effective date. Material changes will receive a prominent notice or other appropriate notice and will apply prospectively; we will seek renewed acceptance where required. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Service. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Provisions that by their nature should survive cessation of use, including verification duties, disclaimers, and liability limits, survive to the extent permitted by law.
